Round 2!!!

Merry Christmas to all!!! We hope everyone had a very nice Christmas. We sure did..Santa was very good to all of us. Clays mom and dad were here at our house this year, and Friday we will leave to go to mom and dad's for round 2! We will get alot of snow time over there.

As always the hussel and bussle of the holidays are sometimes crazy, but after it is all said and done you can sit back and relax. With all the good food, and good times, we await for what the New Year will bring.

I have been sitting here reflecting on what events happened in 2007. Some of the most that have stuck with Chance are: To start the year off, we had a bad snow storm, and we were stuck at home for a few days. February was pretty quiet, as well as March, Chance turned 5 so that was exciting. April nothing to write home about.. The craziness of living a farming life I guess, as everyone around here gets ready to plant. Oh yeah and Janet and Nick set the date for their wedding. May, I am always excited for May, the grass is getting green the flowers are blooming, and summer is on its way. And SCHOOL IS OUT!!! My cousin Megan graduated from High school, and then we spent the weekend at mom and dad's. JUNE oh what a June. We flooded. The whole Chase County was under water. After 14 inches of rain in about 12 hours, it was WET!! The lake was overflowing and it was something to see. I have never seen it rain so hard in my life...We managed to dodge the tornado that was 3/4 of mile away. I was famous for a hour too. I had sent in some pictures to 9NEWS, and they put them on t.v. and pronounced our name right. It took awhile for all the water to subside, actually there was still water sitting in low spots a couple of months ago. July, HOT HOT HOT. We made alot of trips to Denver helping Janet get things together for the wedding. We made the trip to Cody WY, for a celebration for Clays dad, as most of you may not know he was diagnosed with bone cancer in his legs, and spent from February until late April in Arizona at the mayo clinic. So we went to Cody for a party. And he is getting around so well now. And cancer free Yea!!!! OH YEAH how can I forget I turned 30 the end of July!!! I am still waiting for my party!!! HINT HINT Then August. August 4Th my sissy and nick got married. What a relief when that was over. Chase county fair was the middle of the month, Chance got to muttin bust this year, and low-n-behold WON!!!YIPPEE he got a trophy that is taller than he is. He also got to peddle tractor pull again. AND WON that as well. September started a new school year, both kids are in preschool this year, Kay would go everyday if I let her. October was a good month to just relax, if there is such a thing. Chance was Davey Jones and Kaylie was Cinderella for Halloween. November was good. Janet and Nick cooked their first family Thanksgiving, mom and dad came out for the holiday, and there was a lot of good food as always. That weekend we were able to get in some bird hunting. Dad got 2 birds, so we did have some luck. And at last there is December. Busy month for everyone. We started off the month in a snow storm, and remodeled our living room. Then made our annual Christmas shopping trip with Janet and Nick. Oh how can I forget the Christmas programs. Kaylie was in her first Christmas program this year...And what a doll she was. And then she also got to be in Chances program because his class is small and they needed a donkey. Of course she stole the show. Both of them did a very good job performing. Christmas rolled around, and that takes us to where we are now. Santa brought Chance a battery powered Rhino, and Kaylie got Butterscotch, a FurReal Pony.

As we get ready to close out 2007, we hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy and Safe New Year. As for 2008 hold on to your shorts it's going to be a wild one....

Christmas Shopping In Kearney!!

Last weekend we made the famous trip to go Christmas shopping. This year we went to Kearney NE for a change. We usually just go to Fort Collins or Loveland, but Janet and I wanted to go somewhere new this year. It was fun, we left Imperial in a snow storm, but really didn't have much of a choice wheather or not we go or stay home since Christmas was only a week a way. But we made it and it was fun. The kid did a lot of swimming and were every good troopers as we took them to all the stores shopping. It gets easier every year to go shopping with them, I think we only had one little tiff out of Chance, and that was just because he thought we were going back to the motel to go swimming, and we were actually going to eat. And Kaylie only had about fit, just because she was getting tired. Janet and I even got to do our late night shop with out kids or husband. And what a great time to hit Wal-mart, 11:30pm, there isn't alot of people out at the time.

Chance and Kay

Kaylie let me curl her hair for both programs. She was too cute
A good pictures of both the kids before we left for Chances program

Kaylies Christmas Program

Kaylie's Christmas program was on the 12th of December, she was one of the many donkeys that they had. It was so cute to watch the little kids sing and get to perform. She also was in Chances program the next day. She was the donkey in that program also. She was pretty excited to get to perform with the older kids. As soon as I get the pictures from a friend I will post those as well. Yes I forgot my camera that day. We were in a little bit of a hurry trying to get everyone ready as well as getting out of the house on time.

House Remodeling

We decided that we would rip all of the wall board down in our living room and put up sheet rock. It has been a messy project as all remodels are, but we are making good progress. Last night Kirk came over and helped Clay run wire to put up Sconce lighting, and then we got 4 sheet up, and tonight we hope to have all the sheet rock up, and then this weekend we can work on mudding, and then paint, and then it should be back in order again. I took a couple of pictures of Chance helping Clay out last night, he was a great helper, with this own tool belt, and chalk line, and tools.

On Wednesday night while we were ripping out all of the wall board, Clay asked Chance if he would like to help take all the scrap pieces outside, Chance told Clay that he couldn't help cuz he was having lunch with his girl friend, and it would be a couple of hours before he would be back to work.
About 30 minutes after the lunch talk, Chance and Kaylie were playing in the chair, and Chance says to Kay "So tell me about yourself" It was the funniest thing to listen to them play. I need to start a book to keep all of their funny saying.

Pheasant Hunting 2007

We were able to get in 2 days of Pheasant hunting in while mom and dad where here. Friday started off cold, and then it started snowing, and it can be really hard to hunt when it is snowing. Friday night we went back to Wray, and watched the parade of lights, and we were going to go and see Santa, but both kids didn't want to go see Santa because they had already seen him in Imperial. Then on Saturday we out for another hunt, and finally got some birds. It was much nicer Saturday, about 40, and a little breezy.

Our Thanksgiving at Janet and Nicks

We had a great Thanksgiving! We went to Janet and Nicks in Wray, and Mom and dad came out. Danny and Jo were there, and Nicks Aunt Anna and Uncle John. It was great time...Of course we ate too much, and had way to much food. After we ate dinner we played "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" And those questions are hard. I have a feeling that when my kids get to those grades Clay and I are going to have to take refresher corses to keep up!!

Just more pictures from the week!!

This buck was shot by a friend of Janet and Nicks down in Haigler. This is probably one of the nicest Mule deer I have ever seen.
On Thursday Santa made a stop in Imperial to get Christmas lists, I was able to get a picture of Chance, and then when Kaylie got up there to get her picture taken they told me I couldn't take pictures. So we will have to wait for Kaylies picture with Santa until I get it from the Chamber.

Happy Family

Deer Hunting!!

Another year of Deer Hunting in the books. Janet and I went out last weekend, and then Friday and Saturday of this weekend. We were lucky enough to see something every day that we went out, but didn't shoot anything. We had a blast, just the two of us out there, and to boot 2 girls. We had our giggle times, and our sleepy times, and of course the serious times as well. Saturday about sundown we did see a buck that was worth shooting, but it was already to dark to even try to get a shot, so we went back after him Sunday morning, and didn't see him at all!!! The way I look at it is, we might not have shot at anything, but we sure did have a good time, and sometimes that is all that matters.
So this slide show might look a little different than most slide shows, but we decided to take pictures of the things we were seeing, so for some it might seem pointless, to us we were making memories!!! I hope you all enjoy a little laugh!

Halloween Week!!!!

Well it was a crazy week here as I'm probably sure it was crazy for everyone. Happy Belated Halloween to everyone. I will get pictures posted in a bit of the kids all of the things that we did, but for now I will just update everyone on the happenings around here. Wednesday Kaylie had her Halloween Party at school, and she had a blast. She dressed up as a princess(surprise surprise) and on Thursday Chance had his Halloween party at school and he was Davy Jones. Auntie and Uncle Nick came up to go trick or treating with us Wednesday night, Even Janet and I dressed up as the Sanderson Sisters minus one. It was fun, and we ended the night with Chili at home!!! yum yum on a chilly evening.
Well Wednesday after Chance and i picked up Kaylie from school, I managed to slam my index finger in the door of the pickup!!! Yes it hurt really really bad....Well after 6 x-rays and the doctor drilling my nail to relieve the pressure, it was felling a little better. The DR called today(Friday) and told me that it was broke, and it will probably have to be re x-rayed in about 3 weeks to see how it is healing..SOOOOO that answers the question as to why I haven't put pictures of Halloween on here yet. Plus both kids and I have the sick bug that is going around, so haven't really felt up to doing much of anything. But I promise I will get pictures on here by the first of the week.
As far as that we are just taking it easy for now, and we hope everyone is doing good, until next time!!!Tootaloos as Kaylie would say!!

New Bed!

Yesterday afternoon, we were outside playing around, and Chance had come inside to rest for a little bit, and I asked him where Kaylie was. Well he didn't know so I looked outside and this is where I found her. She took her blankie and pillow outside and curled up on the steps outback and she was sound asleep. It was so cute to see her laying there.. Only Kaylie could lay on the step and fall asleep without falling off the step.

This Weekend

This weekend we went to the Pumpkin Patch at Cox Pond. We had a blast. Saturday it was beautiful about 90*. We met some friends down there and walked around picking out pumpkins, and playing. Clay wasn't able to go with us on Saturday, and I was hopping the weather would hold out long enought to go back down there and get a couple more pumpkins and get some good pictures of the kids. What a change in weather. Sunday it was 40 and raining. Thankfully we were able to get back to the pumpkin patch and get some pretty good pictures.
