New Bed!

Yesterday afternoon, we were outside playing around, and Chance had come inside to rest for a little bit, and I asked him where Kaylie was. Well he didn't know so I looked outside and this is where I found her. She took her blankie and pillow outside and curled up on the steps outback and she was sound asleep. It was so cute to see her laying there.. Only Kaylie could lay on the step and fall asleep without falling off the step.

This Weekend

This weekend we went to the Pumpkin Patch at Cox Pond. We had a blast. Saturday it was beautiful about 90*. We met some friends down there and walked around picking out pumpkins, and playing. Clay wasn't able to go with us on Saturday, and I was hopping the weather would hold out long enought to go back down there and get a couple more pumpkins and get some good pictures of the kids. What a change in weather. Sunday it was 40 and raining. Thankfully we were able to get back to the pumpkin patch and get some pretty good pictures.

WILD FAMILY

There is never a dull moment in our house. Last night we had a baseball game in the living room. Chance can really hit the ball. Tonight Clay came home with a couple of nerf guns that shoot darts, and tonight they are playing war in the living room. But the game has now turned into "lets see if we can hit mom". Kaylie is dancing around the living room in her princess dress, and trying to stay out of the line of fire with the boys.
I really hope to see sun the next couple of days cuz all three of these kids need to spend some time outside. How come they always pick on the mom!!!!!Have a great week everyone...

More on Fire Safety Week!!

After Kaylie got scared on Thursday with the fireman and his gear, I decied it would be a good idea to see if Skip Kelley would show her that firemen aren't scarey. Skip called Friday morning and told me that he had his gear in his pickup, and to bring the kids by the shop after school. So after I picked up the kids Friday morning, I took them out to the shop and Skip showed the kids his fire gear, and Chance put it on. But still Kaylie didn't think much of him. She did get a little closer to it, but wouldn't put it on. So these are a few pictures of Chance.

Fire Safety Week

Last week was fire safety week. And the fire department brought the fire truck to the Preschool to talk about fire and safety with the kids. Kaylie got pretty scared when the fireman was putting on all of his gear.

Fall Trip to Mom and Dad's

Last weekend the kids and I and Janet took a trip to mom and dad to look at the fall colors and try to talk to the elk. Just in case you don't know what it means to talk to the elk, I will explain. This time of year is when the elk are in their breeding season, and if you are lucky you can hear them bugel. My dad has an elk call and we tried a couple of times to get one to answer, but didn't have any luck. We did get to see alot of elk

last weekend though. Friday night we had a 4 or 5 point bull cross the road in front of us. Chance thought that was pretty cool. Saturday morning we took another ride, and saw the elk, but they wouldn't talk. And then Saturday evening we took another walk in the woods, I did hear one bugel a long ways off, but I don't think the kids heard him. It was so windy and cold Sat. evening that it wasn't every enjoyable for the kids.
Chance wanted to go fishing, so Papa took him and Kay down to the neighbors and fished in the stream for a while. Chance caught 2 or 3 little fish, and Kay got to catch 1. Then we went to down to Springer Pond and feed the fish, and they both got to catch a few bigger fish.
The fall colors on the way there were so pretty. Janet was able to get a few pictures while we were driving. And then the other pictures are from a Tree that was at the Pond where we went fishing.

Chance and his funny saying

Yesterday at when I went to pickup Chance from school, Carrie told me a funny story about what Chance had said.
While they were playing with play dough, one of the little boys got one of the play dough toys stuck in the end of an ice cream scoop, Deb was trying to get it out, and told Carrie that she couldn't get it out because it had notches on it. Another little girl asked Deb what notches were, and out of the blue, Chance says "You know they are like Taco's". Carrie said she was laughing to hard she about had to leave the room.

The things that kids think of and say are amazing. So he might not of heard the whole story at the time, but to him it sounded like Deb was saying Nachos, and he just thought he would help the little girl out!!!HEHE

Random Thoughts

Tonight we have been sitting here watching the kids play, fight, play, fight...Yeah you get the idea.
For the most part they both got along today. Playing with eachother and playing well. Chance has been showing her how to kick the soccer ball.
Chance wanted Kaylie to put her belly on his feet so he could lift her up. Something Auntie and I have taught him to do. Janet and I did that all the time. So I have been looking online at some good quotes to use in this random thoughts post.
So here are a few of the things I have found, some funny, some most parents can relate to.

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance.

You know children are growing up when they start asking questions that have answers.

If we don't stand up for children, then we don't stand for much.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

It is only possible to live happily ever after on a day to day basis.

Nebraska Sunsets!

The last few weeks we have had some beautiful sunsets.
